Peer Mentor & Live Chat

Peer mentors complete a robust profile that allows real-time algorithmic matching of students based on their needs. Mentors are accessible through live chat and scheduled web meetings.

Learning Modules

The University of Chicago loaded peer mentor training content, monthly learning modules for students, and rich video content that intelligently sends just-in-time notifications to students and orientation leads throughout the summer and first year experience.

Intuitive Support Routing

Students desire the opportunity to self-service as they navigate a new city, a new campus, and a new stage in their lives. Simple search and routing allowed a blend of self-guided support alongside dedicated programming.

The University of Chicago, Wisr Partnership

The College Programming and Orientation (CPO) office at the University of Chicago was tasked with designing and launching a summer program that would connect newly admitted students and their families to the College. In 2018, UChicago partnered with Wisr to create the University of Chicago Mentorship Program (UCMP), which provides incoming new students with upper-class mentors via a custom Wisr site. Within six months, The University of Chicago recorded a record low summer melt number, a 29% reduction year over year. After consistent just-in-time content delivery, and continued engagement, the program ended with 1,258 first year and transfer student participants, 1,521 direct chat messages sent between students and their peers, and 8,695 unique content email clicks from students delivered content automatically through the platform
